The powerful documentary “Missing From Fire Trail Road” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, drawing significant attention to the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women in the United States. Written and directed by Sabrina Van Tassel, and with activist and indigenous leader Deborah Parker as Executive Producer, the film focuses on the disappearance of Mary Ellen Johnson-Davis from the Tulalip Reservation in 2020. Featuring voices like Teri Gobin, Chairwoman of the Tulalip Tribes and Deb Haaland, the U.S. Secretary of the Interior, the film underscores the systemic law enforcement failures and generational violence faced by Indigenous women.

In conjunction with the premiere, a national impact campaign has been launched thanks to the support of StoryBoard. The campaign will involve screenings across tribal communities and aim to mobilise resources and support to prevent further disappearances and bring justice to affected families. “Missing From Fire Trail Road” is more than a documentary; it is a call to action that highlights the urgent need for systemic change and justice for Indigenous communities.
